Filled with lava and covered with snow

On Thursday after Jonathan got off work, we headed to Mt. Rainier. We stopped for dinner on the way at XXX root beer drive in.

Uncle Ron and Aunt Mary Ann with their floats.
Deklan drank his root beer fast. But then his belly hurt.
Anna and Merrick looking very cute.
Jonathan and his "small" hamburger.
We told them that Deklan's birthday was Saturday, so they dressed him up and the whole restaurant sang him happy birthday. He loved it!
On Friday we went to Northwest trek. It is like a zoo with all northwest animals. Here is Merrick looking at the bald eagles from his backpack.
The big horned sheep
Mountain goat
Here are Uncle Ron and Deklan looking out the side of the tram ride.
After leaving the zoo we headed to the mountain! We saw this sign on the way and had to pull over to take a picture. You can see the mountain in the distance.

Amazing scenery and Merrick slept through it.
We pulled off the road to see the beautiful waterfall.
THE MOUNTAIN!! We were 5,400 feet up at this point. This picture can not capture how amazing it was. Sorry.
On the way back down we stopped at reflection lake. I didn't have my good camera with me but I took this shot with my little camera. You can't see the mountain against the sky but you can see the reflection in the lake. Again it doesn't come close to capturing the beauty of it.

I was just checking blogs when your entry posted! Colorado and Washington are alike in a lot of ways, and my brother just got back from a trip to CO and we got to see some "amazing" shots just like the ones you included. I absolutely love when you can see everything above ground reflected in the water below. When you live in a "concrete jungle," it's easy to forget the majesty and splendor on display elsewhere!

Man Jonny that looks like a burger my husband would eat. Wow. It looks like you had a wonderful time.
